Surprises

/ Lego camera series, summer trip with J – July 2016 /

Aarhus, Denmark

Naeroyfjord, Norway
Oslo, Norway
Prague, Czech Republic
coffee, a burger, a cutie in hand – parfait
Stockholm, Sweden
some raw, unfiltered (literally) moments I got to document throughout the trip.
bonus! a little somewhat poem:

Found a Burger King receipt from Denmark
In a second-hand book from Bath
While heading to town on the public transport of Singapore
Listening to songs I heard on loop whilst travelling around United Kingdom
Wearing a top bought in a store along the streets of Sweden
Exiting the train now, oh look,
There's the wallet I bought from Norway

Left parts of me everywhere –
Now they are all coming back to me

Look around, surprises
Are awaiting
(you)

You do you, I do me.

had fractions of a second to capture this. but, i'm glad amidst my fuzzy vision upon being awoken by the sun rays, i did.
sunrise captured whilst on the train to Oslo from Myrdal.

trying to work on my personal development –
staying true to me. not being overly shaped by social norms and beliefs. be confident but not arrogant. apologize less, much less. love harder, feel more, go further, grow higher, feel deeply (and without remorse), work harder (for the things I want and care about). read lots and lots books. write better. observe quietly. buy less material things. travel even more. drown myself in music. dance like there's no tomorrow. frown less (smiling more may be hard for me). letting go of the things beyond my control.
live wild, die free

Traveling

Seeing the sunrise from your tent is un-fucking-real
It gets me, everytime –
Just as you're heading for the airport
You're staring out
The roads, buildings, trees, hell, even clouds
All seems so different

Staring far. Staring ahead
Trying to remember every minuscule detail
For you may never return
And this may be the first and last time
You set foot on this soil

*Inspired by my travels. It's good to be home too, though.

Cry Baby

Taken in Glasgow. No, I actually didn't cry when reading these poems

On some days,
I face the world like I'm unstoppable
On other days,
They think I'm comical
On some days,
I think I'm strong as fuck
On other days,
No such luck
-
But no she says
 All I really am is,

A cry baby
-
Let me be

*Inspired by me. It's good to know I'm still learning, growing, and life is definitely not boring.

Yourself

Learn to tell yourself
Yes
No
Even I don't know

Touch yourself in new ways

Please yourself
Discover yourself
Educate yourself
Invest (in) yourself
Inspire yourself
Know yourself

Love yourself

*Inspired by Rupi Kaur and just, feminism. Note: feminism means equality, if you didn't already know that.

A reminder

Illustrated by @mrzyk_moriceau on Instagram

Dear you,
Admittedly I have not always been there
Through it all, we lay bare –

The days of summer
And crushing times during 'winter'

The future, who knows what will happen then
But as a new day dawns

Please remember:
You are
More than what the world thinks of you

*Inspired by my two passionately weird friends whom I share(d) such fond memories with.
Dacy, when we first met:
During secondary school, as we went on to happier days in our own ways,
i.e. us being overly excited for P.E. just so we could play soccer (with the boys).
Ronald, when we first met:
During polytechnic, as we unknowingly melded into each other's lives,
for exposing me to bigger things and being someone with such a full heart.
Also, "you" by Keaton Henson.
