Truth

Nobody said it was easy
But no, nobody knows the reality
We built these walls with our lies
As they spin, get spun, they become our ally

You ask, "Who's the bad guy?"
Your reflection starts to cry
You say, "This is my life"

So don't say you're a friend
When you think it's just a trend
Your lack of respect shines through
Oh baby-boo
Unclip my wings,
Feel the joy that stings,
For the truth will set us free

*Inspired by a few quotes I came across while doing my leadership essay on authenticity (ha!):

“Anyone who doesn’t take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either.” – Albert Einstein
"In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act." - George Orwell
"Only enemies speak the truth; friends and lovers lie endlessly, caught in the web of duty." - Stephen King
